Would you like to lend a hand and help organise these activities? Would you like to get to know other students and have lots of fun alongside your study? Then send an e-mail to internal@spin-nijmegen.com to become an active member and we can see if we have a spot left for you! Otherwise you can always apply when the new study year begins!
Do you want to know more about our committees? Read the committee descriptions below where our active members introduce themselves!
Welcome to the most sought-after committee in the business world. We are a collection of passionate and determined individuals with the aim of increasing the treasure of our association. We are a committee that loves promotion, dreaming of putting SPiN in the spotlight as if it were a Hollywood star and secretly thinking about how we can support other committees without tripping over the coffee machine.
Greetings the Scrooge McDuck,
Emma (chair), Tim (vice-chair), Evi (secretary), Noor (treasurer), Charlotte (general member), and Tessa (general member)
Freshmen Committee
Hey everybody!! We are Selin, Fleur, Blom, Nienke, Lieke and Silke and we are the freshmen committee of SPiN! This year we have the honor of organizing some fantastic and unforgettable activities for all first-year psychology students. Let us introduce ourselves to you!
Hi! My name is Selin and I am the chair of the committee. I am 18 years old and therefore the youngest of the entire committee :p In my spare time I like to listen and make music, play badminton and I am always up for fun activities with people. I can also regularly be found at concerts of my favorite artists. I can be a huge klutz at times, so I regularly drop things and I'm not the best at cycling after a night out. Fortunately, I do take my position as the chair seriously and am a little more organized in this role, so I hope we will all have a fantastic year!! :)
Hi! I'm Fleur, 19 years old and I'm on the freshmen committee because I thought it would be fun to meet new people from the first year! I am the vice chair. A fun fact about me is that I love traveling and discovering new places, so I take every opportunity to go on vacation!
Hi, my name is Blom, 19 years old and I am the treasurer of the committee. Normally I am extremely forgetful, because I have sometimes taken the train back and forth for 4 hours, thinking that I still had my bike keys at home, even though they were in my pocket. I will be a bit more responsible with this task, so I hope to meet you at one of our events this year!
Hey, I'm Lieke! I'm 19 years old and I'm in my first year (duhuh) of the Dutch track. I am the secretary of the committee! Besides studying, I like to be in town for a drink. I also like to travel, play guitar, play games, a bit of everything! My secret talent is falling, especially when I have been drinking, I regularly go all out, unfortunately I recently lost half a tooth because of this...
Hey! My name is Silke and I am 19 years old. I am the promotion officer of the Freshmen Committee. So I am also a first-year Psychology student. In my spare time I often meet up with friends, watch series and films or read a book. Other hobbies include traveling, skiing, painting and running. I certainly like having a drink and going out! I recently discovered that I apparently start sleepwalking if I've had too much to drink. That's quite embarrassing if you sleep in someone else's student house...
Hey, I'm Nienke, 19 years old and I am a general member of the freshmen committee. I like to have a fun time and am always up for parties and committee activities. If you ask me for a shot of tequila I'll be there! In my spare time I like to watch documentaries, listen to music and play football! I hope to see you at the next activities! :))
Sports Committee
Bart Boerboom: Hey there, My name is Bart. I Already was fanatically active with sports as a gymrat. Now, I and the rest of the SpoCo get to make you a little fitter. One SpoCo activity at a time. Can’t wait to run the Batavieren Race with you all!
Roos Jansen: Hi, I'm Roos. I enjoy going to the gym or rowing at Phocas. I like to exercise with other people and that's why I'm looking forward to our next activity and the Batavierenrace, hope to see you there!
Kerttu Kyllönen: Hey I'm Kerttu. I like to do a variety of different sports. When moving here from Finland I had to leave my skis and riding boots at home so now I mainly focus on pilates, pole dance and yoga. At Radboud sports center I can be spotted trying out different sports with varying rates of success. See you all at the activities!
Mia Bruhn: Hiya, I'm Mia and I'm in my third year of the psychology bachelor. I did the Batavierenrace last year and enjoyed it so much that I decided to join the Sports committee this year. Last year I signed up for half a marathon which was a mediocre succes, so I'm frequently trying to improve my running skills around Nijmegen. I also like to try new sports, so maybe I'll see you in some of RSC lessons ;).
David Otto: Hi, David here. I played table tennis for many years and also started running and going to the gym this year. Since coming to Nijmegen I started trying different sports and look forward to continue doing that with the SpoCo and all of you at our activities.
Anna Bunnik: Hi, I'm Anna. I am a first-year student. I played football for many years, unfortunately I had to stop when I moved to Nijmegen, so now I have to find something new. I hope to do this with you during the SpoCo activities.
Studytrip Committee
All the way to the right with the fan is me, Elin. This is my third year of going on the study trip and this year I am the chair of the committee. I love love looovveee to travel (like any other human being). I have not been outside of Europe much, ''but what I do have are a very particular set of skills'' that come in handy anywhere:
I can get lost anytime, anywhere. So, with me you will see places that you would not find otherwise!
I have no shame, so I'll go full tourist for you when you are too shy to ask the way.
I can sleep in any bed as long as I am warm, so you can choose the bed you like!
Now does that not sound like the perfect travel companion? Can't wait to meet you on the trip!
Olaaa I'm Issam (all the way to the left) and the secretary of the study trip committee. I was part of the party and drinks committee before joining the study trip, so this will be my second year as an active member of SPiN. Both committees describe almost perfectly what I love to do most, namely traveling and attending parties! I've been to a lot of different festivals (still not enough of course!) but haven't been able to travel a lot, hence why I wanted to join the study trip this year. If you're into a combination of chilling at the beach but also exploring the city, then I think we'll enjoy ourselves splendidly on the trip. And for the people who think that sleep is overrated and want to explore the nightlife, I will be there to accompany you! Hope to meet you all soon :)
Hi everyone! I'm Nadine (at the right bottom). This is my first year being an active member and when I had to choose a committee, I knew there was only one right option: the studytrip committee. I'm addicted to travelling and if I could choose, I would be travelling every few weeks. I've already had the honour of travelling to a lot of countries, but what is more fun than travelling with a large group of people? When you travel with me you will always have someone by your side to do the craziest things. When I'm not busy roaming the streets of a city or partying till sunup you will find me in the water or chilling at the beach (where I might be taking a nap). I hope you are just as excited about going on the studytrip as I am. See you soon!
Hii besties, I’m Isa (next to Issam on the left). This is my first year as a member of the study trip committee and as an active member of SPIN. I love traveling and wish to travel more in the future. I am the type of person who loves to plan out my whole vacation beforehand and find out which activities are the most fun. I also love to go to a museum or to churches, so I will probably drag everybody to one on the trip. I am super excited to go on the studytrip and I know that we will have a great time! I hope to see you soon!!
Hello there amigos, my name is Willemijn (middle on ground), I’m in my first year, and this year I’m the promotion officer of the study trip committee. After I finished my exams last summer I took the sentence “money returns, time doesn’t” quite literally, and decided to go on 4 vacations, so I think I have some experience to make the upcoming trip even better! Like all my committee members, I love to travel. This is because I do not only love to explore new countries, but also love to meet people, because you can convince them you’re Belgian by putting on a “Vlaams” accent. You may question what the point of that would be, but believe me, all good stories start with that question. So my dear friends, if you’re like me, and not only in for the breathtaking sceneries, but also for the plot, don’t hesitate to approach me! (Unless you call me “Madelief” of “Jasmijn”, if you do this, I will unfortunately not speak to you that day.)
Hey, I’m Dennis (top row second from the right) and you can consider me a veteran of this committee (and SPiN in general). I have long since forgotten how much time I have spent here, but I remember enough to be of value – which helps me in my position as vice-chair. I used to dance a lot, and more recently you can expect to find me in the gym. I am most comfortable looking out for the group I’m with, making sure everyone is having a good time!
Hey everyone! My name is Jort Timmermans (The extremely happy person on the bottom left) and I'm the treasurer of this committee. This is my second year as an active member of SPiN, and I'm very happy to be part of this committee. This is because I love traveling as long as I can remember. For example, I have been in scouting since I was a child, and every year we went to a new country, where we would go hiking through the mountains and go climbing a cliff, and then go rappelling of the same cliff. I’m a person that wants to undertake activities during trips, and I hope I can help make this trip the best it can be!
Skitrip Committee
My name is Alexander and I am the secretary of the ski trip committee. I am 19 years old and I was born and raised in Nijmegen. I'm in my first year of the study, so I thought this would be a nice way to get to know more people. I love football very much and am a big NEC supporter. I am also a huge fan of winter sports. I have been on multiple winter sports with my family and I have always enjoyed them. That's why I thought it would be fun to organize a ski trip for fellow students. I hope we have a fantastic ski trip this year!
Lecture Committee
Get to know the dynamic brains who power SPiN's Lecture Committee!
Our master's student Naemi loves to dance and balances her studies well enough to be the careful secretary. She organizes our lecture topics, making sure every suggestion is included in the appropriate spot.
Paula, our charming Chair, is a living example of the Croatian passion for card games and maritime exploration. She finds happiness in books, comic books, and video games.
The ardent vice-chair, Ine, is embarking on an incredible quest to earn degrees in psychology and law, all the while tending to her busy family of three cats and a devoted dog, and living near the thrilling Efteling.
Lynn, our globe-trotting ‘treasure’ of the team, brings a mix of wanderlust and athleticism to our committee, harnessing her love for travel and sports while diving into her first semester at Radboud.
And then there's Nefeli, our Greek culinary virtuoso, indulging in her love for cooking while fueling our lecture promotions with creativity and dedication.
And last but not least, Ariënne, our spirited second-year bachelor's student whose passion for sports, cooking, series, and organizing engaging activities brings an infectious energy to our committee!
Together, we form a dynamic team fuelled by diverse interests, boundless enthusiasm, and a shared passion for fostering engaging and insightful lectures within the SPiN community." Lectures are the vibrant pulse of our academic universe, where ideas dance, minds collide, and knowledge dons its finest attire! They're the dazzling fireworks that illuminate our intellectual skyline, sparking curiosity, and fueling the adventurous spirit of learning! Curiously navigating life nurtures our critical thinking muscles, sculpted through the art of attentive listening and savvy evaluation. And where else can we feast on the wisdom buffet served by experts if not through these year’s riveting lectures?

Culture Committee
Hello everyone! Want to know more about the cultures of our SPiN members, or are you ready to see what else the world of culture has to offer? That’s what the Culture Committee is here for. Experience customs from all over the globe at our activities and have a taste of different countries while you travel around the world at our activities!
Hey! I’m Jen, 19, and a second-year student in the international track. This year, I am honoured to be the chair of the Culture committee. Besides studying and being an active SPiN member I like to keep moving, I dance, play football and am a member of the gymnastics association, KUNST. I’m very enthusiastic, and always open for a chat. I hope we can explore some cultures together this year!
Hey! My name is Tomás, I'm 19 years old and I’m the secretary of the culture committee. I’m Colombian and currently in my first year of my studies. Outside uni I spend most of my time gaming or hanging out with friends. I also enjoy biking and learning about all kinds of stuff. I hope to see you in the next cultural activity!
Hey, I'm Greta, the treasurer of the cultural committee, a 20-year-old student from Germany, just getting into my first year. When I'm not handling the committee's finances, you'll find me exploring the sports centre or enjoying my free time with painting, reading, and the occasional nap. I hope to see you at our activities!
Hi everyone! Maja here, the promotion officer of the culture committee! I’m 20 years old, from Poland, and currently in the second year of my studies. In my free time I love to read fantasy, romance and coming-of-age books, meditate, and run. Every Sunday, you will see me wearing Ferrari colours while watching Formula 1 races.
Hey hey, I am Gwendolyn, the general member and for many, part of the interior of the SPiN room. I have been part of SPiN for six years and am this year finally (hopefully) graduating! While you can normally find me in the SPiN room between meetings of the board year, I am doing that year, for this first half year I am experiencing a new culture and am embracing the cold in Finland, where it started snowing in October. Hope to see you all from January onwards again and feel free to ask me about the hobby I have picked up that week!
Social Activities Committee
Hey there my name is Luc. I am this year’s chair of the Social Activities Committee. You can find me on the beautiful football fields of Brabant and in my room attempting to play guitar. When I’m not fretting my guitar I like fretting about getting my bachelors degree this year. I look forward to socializing with you in our upcoming activities.
My name is Wies and i am in my second year of the bachelor. This is my first year as an active member in the Social Activities Committee. Besides my studies, I love to dance and participate in random grouplessons at the sports centre. And you’ll never have to ask me twice to go out and get a drink somewhere in the city. I am enjoying this year so far and looking forward to seeing you all at one of our activities!
Hii, I'm Zara, the secretary of this committee. I am now in the first year of the study. I always like to do fun things and enjoy the people and fun around me. I'm really looking forward to organizing very fun activities this year with the best SoaCo :)).

Hii, my name is Lars. I'm 23 years old and in my second year. I'm a general member in the social activities committee. I like playing (drinking) games, drinking beer and shotting liquor 43.
Hello!! My name is Huub, I'm 20 years old and in my third year of the bachelor. Currently I am also doing a board year at N.K.S.W. Kompanio. This year I'll be a good ol' general member for the SoACo.
Financial Audit Committee
Hi, we are Kristina and Anouk and we are both members of the Financial Audit Committee (KasCo). The KasCo usually consists of two former board members who check and support the treasurer when necessary. The KasCo does regular checks and we make sure that all the financial affairs of SPiN are in order. Basically, we make sure that the treasurer does not run off with the money and we are available for questions and advice.
We were both members of the XIVth Board of SPiN, Kristina was the Treasurer and Anouk the External Affairs Officer. Where Anouk was mainly making sure money was brought in, Kristina made sure it was spent. Besides the board year, we have both been active at SPiN over the years and like to help SPiN and the treasurer in this way.
Fun fact: you can find us together in a photo in the aquarium of the beloved SPiN fish, where we made a picture with Spongebob for our beloved fishies during an SPiN activity.
Festivities Committee
Hi, my name is Frank, I'm 19 years old and in my first year of psychology. This year I'll be the chair of the Festivities Committee. In my free time I'd like to play some fieldhockey or padel and hang out with friends. In addition to my studies, I am also the owner of my own company and I DJ at parties.

Hi Hi! My name is Anneloes I am 19 years old and I am in my first year of my bachelor's degree in psychology. I can regularly be found at festivals, so I hope to throw two great parties together with the committee
Media & Yearbook Committee
Hi hi everyone, my name is Lotte and I am chair of the media and yearbook committee this year. I’m 19 years old and I’m in my second year of psychology and my second year as an active member. In my free time I like to spend time with friends, bake cookies and go to a party from time to time. I also love to take pictures which is why this committee is perfect. So, I hope to all see you at the activities so I can capture your best and funniest moments!
Hello, I am Helene and I am part of the media and yearbook committee this year as a secretary. Furthermore, I am 19 years old and come from Germany. Since i am in my first year of psychology, my spin membership is also pretty young:) I chose this committee because of two reasons: On the one hand, I just really enjoy meeting new people thus the spin association seemed perfect to me. And on the other hand, I have always enjoyed taking pictures – so perfect combination!
Hey! My name is Lizzie, the vice-chair of the media and yearbook committee. I am 21 years old and in the second year of my psychology bachelor. Aside from running around campus and hanging out with friends I love to go to the gym, cook and go to the occasional rave. Within my friendgroup I am known to take pictures and videos of the things around me, so I am super happy to be part of this committee. I am looking forward to capturing all the beautiful (and chaotic) moments of the upcoming activities – hope to see you there!
Hi everyone!! My name is Shani and I am the treasurer of the media and yearbook committee this year. I’m 19 years old and in my first year of psychology. Outside of Uni, I mostly spend time with friends and watch my comfort show. Up until now I really enjoy being in the media committee and continue looking forward taking fun pictures of all of you :)
Haa guys! I am Sofie and I am general member of the media and yearbook committee. I am 20 years old and in my 3rd year of psychology and my second year of being active member. I have a different hobby every single month but running is most stable. Oeh and travelling. Right now, I am assisting the committee from Costa Rica and practising my photography skills for when I get back. Looking forward to this year!!
Hello everyone!! My name is Guusje and I am in the first year of the Dutch track right now! So far i am really enjoying this study! Besides studying, playing hockey and going out with my friends, I also wanted to do something for Spin! I’ve always loved to take pictures of my friends, so I’m really happy to be in this committee!! I am really looking forward to seeing you all during the upcoming activities!!
Citytrip Committee
Hey everybody!!
We are the city-trip committee. To introduce ourselves we all answered a question, if you would be a city, which city would you be and why? We are all looking forward to the city-trip and we hope you are excited too!
My name is Ellen, I am the chair of the city-trip committee this year. If I had to describe myself as a city I would be Harare, this is the capital of Zimbabwe. I am excited about this city because my family is from Harare and we are going back there next year. Harare is always warm which is great for me because I reeeaaally don´t like the cold weather here in the Netherlands. Harare is welcoming and sunny just like me. I am looking forward to the city-trip and I hope to meet a lot of new fun people!
Hi, I'm Cis, and I would say that I'm Budapest! From very early one I visited every country in eastern Europe, unfortunately I don't remember every city there, but I do actually remember the glorious city of Budapest. Especially because I had the honour to organise the SPiN city trip to Budapest two years ago and go there again! The city is a little bit less known within Europe, but still infamous to the right people, a little bit like me :) You could say Budapest is the transition between east and west Europe and everything is allowed to blend together. In that same mindset, I would say I'm the perfect person to blend students and an interesting new culture! I hope to meet you all on the coming city trip!
Hi everyone! My name is Gitte and I’m the treasurer of the city trip committee this year! I’m 19 years young and this is my first year in Nijmegen :). If I would have to describe myself as a city, it would definitely be Barcelonaaa. The ambiance in this city is warm, positive and cheerful. Everywhere you look, you’ll see color and art which I LOVE. And don’t forget about the amazing food and weather!! Above all, the people in Barcelona (and entire Spain haha) know how to party; that’s exactly what I enjoy most, dancing till the early hours. I’m looking forward to the city trip and meeting you guys of course.
Hii, I am Tammy and if I were a city I would be Malaga (in spain:)). This because I am lively ( if I speak for myself) and not very big. You can also join me in a nice day just relaxing on the beach and having a fun night going out in the city centre. Besides, you can often find good food near me, since I am a big fan of that!
Hoi! I am Neel and I am the co-promotion officer for the city-trip committee, this means I have the job to create suspense about the mystery location that we’re going to this year and to promote other activities from our committee. If I would have to choose a city that represents me the best it would be my favorite city, Rome. I am just as chaotic as the streets there and I am easily lost (especially after a night out). I also have a great passion for the history and culture of cities and Rome has one of the richest histories of all European cities. I am really looking forward to organizing the city trip this year and to meet as many people as possible on the citytrip.
Hii. My name is Eva, I am 20 years old and together with Neel I will do the promotion for the city-trip committee. A city I am a big fan of is Berlin. I really love the vibe there and it feels really relaxed. Everything is possible in Berlin, so I think everyone can have a good time in this city. I find the history of Berlin very interesting but I also love the nightlife and all the parks and beer gardens the city has. As you may already now, Berlin is very famous for its techno scene, and although techno is not really my genre of music I really enjoyed it here. I even thought that I would make a transformation to ‘Eef de raveteef’ that week in Berlin. I love it that you can do and try different things in new cities like Berlin. I think that this year’s city trip will also be an interesting experience where we are going to do a lot of fun things together. I am really looking forward to it! Love, Eva
Illustration Committee
Hey, my name is Anneli. I am 19 years old and I am in my first year of my bachelor's degree. In my spare time I like to meet up with friends. I enjoy watching a movie, traveling, playing games or exploring the city. I am also a fan of good food (honestly who isn’t). So l like to dine out. Unfortunately, my student budget doesn't always agree. I also like to be creative. I especially enjoy drawing and painting. For that reason I thought it would be a great idea to become a member of the illustration committee. I'm looking forward to making amazing posters this year!
Hey hey everyone, my name is Evy and I am the vice-chair of the illustration committee! I am currently 19 years old and in my second year of the psychology bachelor program. I enjoy keeping my life busy, and thus I am often seen running around and talking to friends. So, I spend more of my days at uni socialising than studying. Outside of uni I enjoy having game nights and dinner with friends (tho I am a horrible cook). Since I was a child, I always enjoyed drawing, thus coming up with all sorts of creative designs. My parents were overthrown by all the fake movie posters and picture books I drew up. I am very excited to put this into practice and make some amazing posters for all the SPiN activities. I hope to see yall around soon!!
Heyy everyone! I’m Neeraja, I’m 21 and in my final semester studying psychology. I have always loved seeing the different posters that SPiN puts up online, so I wanted to look behind the curtains and see how it all works through this committee. A bit more about me: I love doing arts and crafts (although my results are often a disgrace), currently you can also find me complaining about my thesis to anyone who’ll listen, my present hyperfixation is crossword puzzles and sudoku, and of course finding new movies and series to watch. I am looking forward to making a bunch of fun posters for all the other committees (and hopefully upping my game when it comes to being creative) :)
Hey hey my name is Nele! I am 19 years old and in my first year of the psychology bachelor program. From january on, I’ll be the secretary of the illustration committee. Besides pretending to be productive at Uni, I enjoy spending quality time with my friends, whether it’s making dinner or partying together. Up until now I have really liked being part of the illustration committee and designing posters for the upcoming SPIN events!! I am very excited for what’s coming next :)
Hi! My name is Resa, I’m 19, in my second year of the psychology bachelor and chair of the illustration committee. When I’m not trying to motivate myself to study, I’m mostly chatting or partying with friends, watching a movie or smashing away my frustrations during a game of volleyball. I enjoy drawing and creating stuff but notice I usually can’t find the time to do so. This committee is a great opportunity to meet new people and force myself to find space in my schedule for creativity. I’m looking forward to all the stunning posters that me and my committee members will create! :)
Hey guys, my name is Rita! I'm 18 and I'm an international first year bachelor's student (: I'm also an absolute sloth; I spend most days just laying around in my room doing nothing active, which is why this committee is absolutely perfect for me! I get to mess around on my laptop making posters and designs without having to move a single muscle hahaha. When I'm not being the world's laziest graphic designer, I eat sleep and breathe music. You'll always find me with my headphones around my neck or on my ears, or at the barrier of a concert (I've mastered the art of queuing for hours thanks to the laziness). I also enjoy an intellectual conversation or two, which is why I'll often be at Het Spook or Rood Socialistische Jongeren events. I'm very excited to be working with all the wonderful people here, and I'm looking forward to seeing you all in the SPIN room (on the blue moon when I leave mine, of course)
SocialCie Committee
HoiHoi, my name is Rik (1st year) and this year I will be the vice-chair of SocialCie. I’m looking forward to meeting all of the active members at one of our fun activities. Things I like: going out, drinking, playing tennis and mostly having a good nap. Besides that, I love music, if you see me alone i will most likely have my headphones on with the best music (Julia’s playlist). I’m always up for a good time, and the go-to guy for a spontaneous shot so just hit me up!
Hi, my name is Lisa, I’m a first year bachelors student and I’m secretary of SocialCie, which basically means that I have sore fingers after every meeting, but I’m used to that since I play instruments. My two personalities are coffee and wine (I have it both tattooed on my arm, (no but literally)) so in my free time I enjoy doing something with my friends like drinking wine or coffee (I meant the tattoo thingy serious) or going out (to drink wine). I also love baking and cooking and listening to music while doing that, mostly billlie eilish, raye or musicals. I‘m excited to meet all of the active members to drink a wine or a coffee together.
Heyy I’m Julia, SocialCie’s treasurer. I love going out, planning parties and, as my job suggests, spending money. That money usually goes to heels, skincare and a fair amount of cocktails. Speaking of: my favorite is a Moskow mule, but within the committee I have made Berliner Luft my personality. If I’m at home, I love baking, binge watching netflix and creating the perfect Spotify playlist, which to me usually means a mixture of The Weekend, Lana del Rey and Arctic Monkeys. I’m very excited for upcoming year and make this active members weekend the very best <3
Hi hi! I am Liza (the one laying on top of everybody in the picture) and I’ll be the promotion officer of this year’s SocialCie committee. I am now in my first year of the bachelor and really excited to help organize and promote amazing activities for the active members of the study association. In my spare time I like baking, Netflixing and being creative, for example now I am making a scrap book as a Christmas gift to my grandma. Besides that, I love dancing: I do ballet and the one thing I love the most about clubbing is standing on that dancefloor! I’m looking forward to the upcoming year! Much love…
Yo my name is Jurjen and this will (hopefully) be my last year at the bachelor. I like to do creative things like making music and next to that I like to windsurf when the weather is nice. This will be my first year as an active SPiN member, so i'm looking forward to meeting everyone at our amazing events!
hi, i‘m Joëlle, one of SocialCie’s general members. I am currently in my first year of the Bachelor and am looking forward to making this a fun year for all active members! In my free time, I either go wild at parties or enjoy alone time at home. My favorite thing to do during that time is try out new baking recipes, read a romance book or just scroll on tiktok mindlessly. Since moving to the Netherlands, my new favorite sweet snack has become stroopwafels.
Howdy, I'm Tommy, this year's chair of SocialCie. As I am writing this I'm traveling through the Philippines, however I'm confident the committee is in good hands. However, don't worry, I'll be back soon to spread the lovely chaos as I'm known for doing. I'm the one you will probably find at D&B raves around the country. Well recognized for my awful humor and sarcasm, I like spreading the love. I love food and my passion lies in making burgers. While afar for now, I'll do my best to make the active members' activities as fun and chaotic as possible!
Integration Committee
Hey, we’re the Integration Committee. That’s because we integrate, and we have commitment. Our task is to bring together different groups of people that probably wouldn’t come into contact with each other easily. Maybe you already know our work (or better the work of our predecessors): The Legendary Freshmen Weekend. We are an awesome group, known for our famous Rob-memes, but we’re also kind of cool individually:
Our chair is Kei, our organizational support rock. You might recognize him because of his gigantic water bottle which he always carries around.
Our vice-chair is Floortje (or Flo), the master of datumprikkers and patience.
Our secretary is Femke, our master of words and the voice of reason. When the rest of us is messing around, she’s the one to bring order. Her catchphrase is: “ff centraal!”
Next, our Limburgse treasurer; Chanu. Even though she has a dorm in Nijmegen, she still doesn´t know the way from the moment she steps out of her dorm.
Our promotion officer is Partyanimal Puck. Her editing skills: Slay.
Last but not least, we have our general member Kiki. Kiki is our inside spy for gossips from the board., which delivers the best material for our weekly Rob-memes.
Also, a special thanks to our supervisor, Rob: our meme-worthy hero that we all dearly love, even though we don’t show it.
Magazine Committee
Hii, I am Valeria, 20 years old and one of the two promotion officers for the magazine committee. Currently I am in my second year of the English track. The spin magazine is a creative outlet for me, and I hope you all are going to read our upcoming amazing editions! Except for obviously pouring all my blood, sweat and tears (iykyk) into the magazine, I love to dance, do yoga, go snowboarding, cook, read and do basically anything with my friends.
Hi there! My name is Roberta, I am 20, currently a second year student and the vice chair of the Magazine Committee. To tell you a bit about myself, I am a total book-worm and (white) Christmas enjoyer. I’m also obsessed with music and have a strong attachment (hopefully secure) to concerts. My cooking skills are very limited, so shout out to Gigi Hadid’s pasta, that’s what keeps me going. I’m incredibly excited to contribute to our lovely Magazine this year - my brain is already coming up with a bunch of ideas, so hopefully you’ll love them as much as I do!
Hi, I’m Lorin, 17 years old and in the first year of the English track. I’m from Winterswijk (ps, I still need a room, so if anybody needs a roommate…), a small town in the east of The Netherlands. I’m the treasurer of the Magazine Committee, which I am very excited about. I like to read, sing, watch movies, cook (check out the recipes in the magazine!), go out with my friends and - of course - write.
Hi my name is Zoë, I’m 20 years old and I’m the chair of the magazine committee. Mainly because of my wish to become a journalist and my passion for the mind, I’m very excited to write 4 amazing editions of the magazine this year! Besides being active at Spin, I love meeting with friends, playing games and going out in the city till late! I also love technofestivals and watching movies in the theatre (every Tuesday €7 at vue!!)
Hi everyone! My name is Iris, I'm 18 years old and I'm the secretary of the magazine committee. Currently I'm in my first year. There are a lot of things that I like to do in my (limited) free time: playing volleyball, hanging out with friends, playing the piano, reading or watching a good movie. Writing is also something that I love to do, so I'm super excited to be part of the magazine committee this year! I'm looking forward to writing four amazing magazine editions and I hope you are just as much looking forward to reading them!
Workfield & Future Committee
Hey, future psychologists!
We are presenting the Workfield & Future committee.
Would you like to have a sneak peek into your future and look behind the curtains of the workfield? Come with us on some exciting excursions to possible future workplaces.
We will try to organise one for each domain (Brain & Cognition, Development & Mental Health, Behavior & Environment).
We will also organise some amazing activities around Masters orientation, and, of course, a Masters evening where you can get some extra information.
We hope to see you there!
Merchandise Committee
Welcome to the Merchandise Committee, a vibrant group of seven enthusiastic individuals united by a common goal: enhancing student life through creative and stylish merchandise. Workshop & Conference Committee
Hii, my name is Juul Neve and I match well with the well-known pornstar martini. Like pornstar martini, I am sweet to almost everyone. But remember that pornstar martini is not lemonade! As the chair I keep an eye on the committee members and make sure we mix together just right. I am looking forward to organizing some exciting workshops!
Hello. I’m Preecha Louwers, and a drink that matches me would be a mojito. The mojito is a fresh minty summer drink, just like me as I prefer to spend the summers minty fresh living the sweet life. As the secretary, I constantly have to follow and note people’s points in meetings, which if you have had too many mojitos may be a harder than you think! Hope to see everyone at our workshops!!!
Hey! I’m Tim Bakker and I match with the wonderful Pauwel Kwak. Why I hear you ask? Well, to start simply because this craft beer is served in a very tall and slender glass to which I can relate being tall and slender myself. It’s also very clumsy to drink, but worth every effort! With a high alcohol percentage and a sweet taste it’s the perfect drink to get you going. In the committee I will be fulfilling the role of general member, making sure all general tasks are going well. I can’t wait to see you guys at our wonderful workshops!
Hii, I’m Rachella Brand and I match with a Piña Colada :). Meeting new people with a glass of Piña in Colada hand is like my function within the committee. As the vice-chair I take care of dates with other committees and with the board! Also, it is a summer drink and I do not like cold rainy weather! I hope to meet lots of new people and organize fun workshops!
Hey! My name is Rachelle Verwaaijen, and I match with a delightful strawberry daiquiri. Just like this sweet and fruity cocktail, I bring a refreshing approach to managing finances, blending a mix of precision and a pinch of fun. As the team´s treasurer I ensure that our finances will be handled as smoothly and enjoyably as sipping a daiquiri. With an eye for detail and a glimmer of sweetness my aim is to keep our financial matters as balanced as my favourite cocktail. I´m excited to see you at one of our workshops!
Hii, my name is Noor van Arkel, and my signature drink is Aperol Spritz. As the promotion officer I love to promote this drink because it is fruity, fresh, Italian, and above all reminds me of the better day when the sun was shining. I'm looking forward to our fun workshops!
Gala Committee
Hey everyone,
We are SPiN’s gala-committee 2023/2024. Like everyone, we used to dream about and drool over the beauty and grace of the Diney princess movies when we were small (and we still do – let’s be honest). The beautiful clothes and dresses, handsome dance partners (whether it be attractive princes, pretty princesses, or charming royals), dreamy castles; we were HOOKED. And this is exactly why, dear fellow SPiN members, you are lucky that we make up the gala-committee this year, because we will deliver this beauty and magic back to you. Let’s now shortly introduce ourselves with the Disney prinses inside of us:
Hi, I am Jet, the chair of this committee. Right now, I am in my fourth and final year of the bilingual Psychology bachelor (oh how time flies). Outside studying and a lot of jobs, I like to listen to music, take care of my little plant family and learn to be a true warrior in various RSC material arts classes (is that how you spell it? Lol). I am almost exclusively described as a little chaotic bubble of happiness, comparable to Disney’s Rapunzel from Tangled. I hope to see you all at the gala!
Hey, my name is Lieke and this year I am the vice chair of the committee. Right now I am in South Africa (for two weeks haha), leaning to surf during my gap year. Other than work, I’d like to fill up my time with little creative projects and sports. With all of the surd skills I am developing right now, I could only be princess Moana of course.
Hii, Sophie here! Let me introduce myself to you: I live in Nijmegen and I love cafés, coffee, secondhand shopping, being with friends and ofcourse I like parties; this is why I am super excited to be a part of the gala committee! I am going to try my best, together with the other members, to make the gala of this year amazing for you!;)
Hi Everyone!! My name is Saffira, I am 20 years old and now a second year Psychology student. I am a true people person and am always available for a talk or a drink 😉. During my free time, I like to keep busy with ballet, making music and singing 🩰🎼. If I were a Disney prinses, I would probably be Cinderella. We are both loyal and prioritize family, and neither one of us would ever skill a ball (or gala)!! 💪
Hey, I'm Merle, second-year psychology student and your newest member for putting on the most legendary gala! Since Princess Belle is my favourite Disney princess, I bring adventure, a hefty dose of creativity and a strong opinion of my own into the mix. I also love my own 'beast', my dog, immensely. Let's make the magic of the gala fizzle and celebrate together a party that will go down in the history books!
Hi, I am Raisa I am 20 years old and I am now in the second year of my bachelor Psychology. My inner Disney Princes is Belle. Like her, I love books and value my friendships deeply, but I can also be pretty headstrong and stubborn. Fun fact about me., I am addicted to true crime documentaries and horror movies, and my toxic trait is that I am sure I would survive in any horror movie.
Party & Drinks Committee
Hi everyone, I am Maaike, the chair of the FeBo. I am 22 years old, and I am now in my bonus year of my study. I really enjoy socializing and can regularly be found in the city with friends. I also play the piano and guitar and I regularly go to the gym (to compensate for the fun and the beers). Who knows until the next party!
Hey! I am Esli, the vice-chair of the FEBO! I am 20 years old and I am now in my first year of my study. In my spare time I enjoy playing music and can often be found at parties, concerts or festivals. I also hope to see you all at the SPiN parties!
Hi, my name is Blom. I am 19 years old, and I am the treasurer of the committee. As clearly visible in the photo, I have been on the committee since the very beginning! I love a party and I really enjoy talking to a lot of people, so the FeBo is really something for me! I hope to speak you all soon at one of our parties or drinks!
Hey, my name is Carlijn and I am currently in my second year. I like going out and music, that's why I signed up for the FeBo :) I skate and love shopping, good food, and of course a good party! I look forward to seeing you at the parties!
Hey everyone! My name is Leie and I am in the first year of the Dutch track. In my spare time I play waterpolo, meet up with friends and have a drink (or ten). I provide a bit of Limburg fun in the committee. My favourite holiday is Carnival! I hope I can have a beer with all of you at our parties!!
Hey! My name is Isabelle and I am the secretary of the FeBo. I am 20 years old and I am now in my first year of the Dutch track. I joined FeBo because I like parties, drinks and fun! Besides going to all the fun parties, I enjoy chilling with friends in my spare time, I love cooking, music and traveling. I hope to see you soon!
Heyhi, my name is Sietske. I am the promotion officer of the FeBo and am currently in my first year of psychology. I like parties, music, dancing, fun and having a glass of wine (or 5) with friends. I also like to sing a song with my guitar, and I really enjoy chatting snd laughing with people! I'm really looking forward to all the parties and hope to meet you there! Love.
Orientation Committee
Hi everyone coming across our site!
We are the 2023/24 orientation committee of SPiN . Together with SPS-NIP we organize the “Experience Your Future” event. For which we’ll have speakers to tell you about their various work fields and post bachelor education. So that afterwards you’ll actually know what you can do, and what it's going to be like. The event also offers an information market with all kinds of future related stands. But who are we?
Hi, I’m Nick the 20-year-old chair of the orientation committee. Whenever I’m not busy studying, my friends and I usually already have about two different activities planned for the day ranging from making pickles to spending 12 hours in a box. I joined the committee because I enjoy organizing bigger events which also fits perfectly with my role as chair. Hope to see as many of you at Experience Your Future as possible.
My name is Lauren, and I am 19. I love to read and crochet. You will also catch me at many coffee shops around Nijmegen. I hope to make your time here at Radboud University a great experience with many helpful workshops and fun lectures.
My name is Judith, 20 years old, born and raised in Enschede and since two years I am living in Nijmegen now. I'm doing my second year of the bachelor. In my free time I like to play the guitar, do sports or go to the terrace with friends. This year I am the treasurer of the Orientation Committee. I'm really looking forward to organising Experience Your Future together with my fellow committee members. I hope to see you all there!
Hi, my name is Viktória, and I am a 20-year-old first-year student. I love any form of creative work. I decided to join SPiN because I enjoy being involved.
Hello! I’m Joost, 19 years, and second year psychology student at Radboud. Together with Merel we represent SPS-NIP and hope to make this event a fantastic success! I love reading, kickboxing, creative writing, and learning new and interesting things of all topics. I always try to keep myself busy and cannot stand being bored. Once I am done with my studies, I plan on working in a clinical practice somewhere. Hope to see you on the Experience Your Future event!
Hi, my name is Merel, 22 years old and together with Joost from SPS-NIP we will be working with the SPIN committee to make this years’ Experience Your Future Event a great success! I am currently in my 2nd year of the bachelor Psychology at RU and a fun fact about me is that I graduated at HAN in 2022 for the bachelor Pedagogy.
Hope to see you guys at the event!
GMA Committee
Hi, I’m Rachella and I’m (hopefully) in my last year! This year I am part of the Workshop & Conference committee, and next to that I am Technical Secretary at the GMA’s! You will see me type the minutes like crazy at the GMA’s
Hey, my name is Seray and this year I am the technical chair at SPiN’s GMAs. ‘Technical chair’ I hear you wonder that sounds vague and must take a lot of time. In essence chairing the GMA entails that I am the middleman between the questions of the GMA and the answers of the board. So all the hard work I leave to our wonderful board. As middleman I give the board more time to focus on the answers to the questions. I also assure the board isn’t the bad guy whenever I need to cut someone off for the sake of time. Furthermore, whenever some procedures are unclear or when questionable traditions need to be honoured I jump in and help. To do this, it helps that I’ve previously done a board year at SPiN. That experience however doesn’t seem to help me out whenever important decisions are made and I’ve once again lost count of the votes. Thankfully I have Rachella as technical secretary to help me out.
